Gas Metering system

The term "fiscal metering" is often interchanged with custody transfer, and refers to metering that is a point of a commercial transaction such as when a change in ownership takes place. Custody transfer takes place any time fluids are passed from the possession of one party to another. Remote gas well sites require local flow metering of the mineral reserve's gas flow rate for asset and revenue accounting purposes.

This course has been designed to cover the basics of physical and chemical makeup of gas mixtures and how the mixtures are affected by temperature and pressure will be explained. The fundamentals of volume determination devices operation, calibration and maintenance will also be reviewed.

Upon completion of the course participants will have gained an understanding of operating a custody transfer systems for natural gas.  An understanding of the principles of how to operate custody transfer stations so as to minimize systematic errors and ensure accuracy will also be obtained.
